Composition
Our structural steel processing line is composed of two main units: 1. the beam sawing and cutting combined line; 2. the CNC beam drilling machine.

I. Beam Sawing and Cutting Combined Line
Composition of Beam Sawing and Cutting Combined Line of the Structural Steel Processing Line
The beam sawing and cutting combined line is mainly made up of the loading bed, band sawing machine’s feeding mechanism, band sawing machine, band sawing machine’s outfeed conveyor, plasma cutting device, pneumatic system and electrical system.

1. Loading Bed
The loading bed which consists of the conveyor supporting bracket, conveyor chain and gear reducer, is used for transporting H beam to the feeding mechanism for the mechanical arm to clamp. This loading bed can hold 5 pieces of H beams at one time.

2. Band Sawing Machine’S Feeding Mechanism
(1) It is composed of the feeding conveyor and CNC feeding device.
(2) The feeding conveyor is used to hold the workpiece. It consists of the supporting bracket, supporting roll, lateral positioning roll, transverse thrust unit, gear rack, etc. There is optoelectronic switch in the front part of the feeding conveyor to test the front part of the workpiece to decide the machining accuracy at the X axis direction. The side positioning roll is used to roughly locate the position of the workpiece at the Y axis direction. The transverse thrust unit clamps the workpiece and fastens it to the lateral positioning roll.
(3) The CNC feeding device is made up of gears, servo motor and mechanical arm. The mechanical arm clamps the workpiece. Driven by servo motor and with gear power transmission, the workpiece is fed in along the X axis direction.

3. Band Sawing Machine
The band sawing machine of the structural steel processing line is used to sawing and cutting the H beams.

4. Outfeed Conveyor
The outfeed conveyor is comprised of the reducer, conveyor supporting bracket, supporting roll, lateral positioning roll and chains. This outfeed conveyor is used for loading and moving the finished H beam. The reducer drives the supporting roll to move the workpiece along the X axis direction.

5. Plasma Cutting Device
This cutting device of the structural steel processing line serves for cutting on one flange of the H beam. The cutting torch is installed on the fixed positioning side of the band sawing machine.

6. Pneumatic System
It supplies driving force for the transverse thrust unit and the mechanical arm.

7. Electrical System
The electrical system of our H beam machining line is mainly composed of the touch screen and the PLC system.

II. CNC Beam Drilling Machine of Structural Steel Processing Line
Composition of CNC Beam Drilling Machine
The beam drilling machine is mainly composed of the main drilling machine, infeeding device, outfeed conveyor, cooling system, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, lubricating system, electrical system and scrap trolley. This beam drilling machine is designed with a fixed table and the workpiece can be moved during processing. 3D drilling lathe with such structure is suitable for small and medium-sized steel processing.

1. Main Drilling Machine
The main drilling machine is made up of the cross beam, column, base, sliding table, drilling headstock, beam loading and pinching device, side pinch device, beam thickness and width detection device, etc.

(1) The main drilling machine of our structural steel processing line has three drilling headstocks, that are respectively the top drilling headstock, left drilling headstock and right drilling headstock. These three drilling headstocks can drill separately or simultaneously. There are three individual drill spindles on each headstock and these three drill spindles can be installed with 3 different drill bits to drill holes with three different sizes in one time’s work operation. Each headstock’s spindle rpm can be regulated by transducer and its feeding speed is adjusted by speed regulating valve.

(2) The left and right drilling headstocks are installed on the column. With power supplied by servo motor and transmitted by ball screw, those drilling headstocks move along the Z axis direction and the W axis direction respectively, guided by precise linear rolling guide.

(3) During drilling, the workpiece will be pinched from two different sides. Above the workpiece there is a pinch device driven by hydraulic cylinder to pinch the workpiece on the horizontal supporting roll. There is also a pinch device to pinch the workpiece from other side.

(4) When changing workpiece, the beam thickness and width detection device will check the thickness and width of the beam to ensure processing accuracy.

2. Infeeding Device
The indeeding device has the same configuration and functions as feeding conveyor of the band sawing machine.

3. Outfeed Conveyor
Comprised of the supporting bracket, supporting roll, reducer, chain, etc, this device is used for loading and moving the finished H beam.

4. Scrap Trolley
Made up of the box body and idler wheel, the scrap trolley of our structural steel processing line is installed under the main drilling machine, used for collecting the drilling scraps.

5. Cooling System
The cooling system adopts aerosol cooling, using air combined with high pressure water. It can reduce the wear and tear of drilling bit, and save cost as only little coolant is necessary. The flexible nozzle is installed on the spindle box and is easy to be adjusted to cool the drilling bit during the whole drilling process.

6. Hydraulic System
It supplies power for drilling spindle and the workpiece clamping device.

7. Pneumatic System
It supplies power for the transverse thrust unit, for H beam width and H beam thickness inspection device, as well as for the mechanical arm.

8. Lubrication System
It combines both centralized lubrication and manual lubrication. Some linear guide ways and ball screws are lubricated in the centralized lubrication way. For other lubricating points, manual lubrication is adopted.

9. Control System
The control system of our CNC structural steel production line is mainly composed of the upper computer and the PLC. Programming methods like keyboard input, USB port input and CAD generation are available. The machining programs can be saved, retrieved, displayed and communicated freely. The processing parameters of our structural steel processing line can be adjusted manually or automatically.
